Do you try to vary the anchor text of links coming into your site? Jennifer Slegg thinks that over optimizing for one phrase can have negative results, and it is better to get some "click here" links to go along with your important phrases. She also points out that the surrounding text of the anchor may also play an important role. Pretty interesting reading ... would love to hear what you think, and what you have done in this area.

For better natural link building its always better to vary your anchor text different. Its common for both internal and external link building.
