I actually just read on another forum that someone had put a google sitemap on their site and it did more harm than good. Apparentally the guys results in google went down dramatically. Confused

I don't see why that would be. It seemed to help in getting my site indexed and new content indexed as soon as possible.

He probably did not format it properly and had no backlinks.

Well XML sitemap is very important for your site and it also make easy work for Google spiders too. If you make proper sitemap than you pages indexed fast by Google and other SE's.

I agree with you here. I have tested this with a new site and my pages was listed in Google very quickly. Not wqith any major keywords but either way, it got listed. Smile

Yes if you have good XML sitemap than your pages will indexed fast without much work on SEO. You can create your XML sitemap at http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ and than uplode it to your site.Smile

I hand make my own lol. I feel it's better than this computer generated nonesense. They miss out links and some forums links can't be placed when the bot tries to get them. I'm sure you guys have had experiences with this.

This is great to see you made it your XML yourself. I have same problem when I generate my sitemap on other site. But thanks to xml-sitemaps.com that gives me better sitmap for my site and I have good results in Google.Smile

I know that most side map generators have issues with VB. I'm gussing that you're sites do not run VB or any other similar forum boards? Well, either way it's great to hear that your getting good ranking on the search engines. =)

Woah, somonme is making money. Gah, aparenty a new site I have is having issues with the verification process. I upoaded a blank HTML file with the verification code but yet there are issues with the verification... Dang. :-X. Will try again later.
