The best computers are the ones that cater to your specific needs. Some people have their computers built, and others build them themselves. My sister put mine together; it's pretty basic, but has everything that suits my needs. I am just curious - what special things has anyone out there added to theirs to make it "special".

I am converting one of my computers to video editing only to work on side projects. Any advice will be appreciated.

I used to build all my PCs
It was a great hobby.
Now I think when I get my next PC I may buy the whole thing at once.
I've found it doesn't save that much money if any, though it once did.

Building your own pc is not only rewarding, But its a hell of alot cheaper Smile

My pc at home is pretty basic to todays standards but it was hot when i brought it all 3 years ago.

I was the coolest guy around lmao. P4 3.2ghz HT, 3gb's ram, 512meg video and a soundblaster card (forget the model but it was the hottest then)
Set me back alot aswell..

Still plays all the new games etc so it isn't getting new parts for awhile Smile

Is it really cheaper? I guess so, but sometimes you have to look around for good prices. And it also depends on what you want to put into it.

I build all of my computers as well. I have 4 desktops and 1 laptop in the house.

I'm specifically focusing on Intel now for my desktops as they can run Mac OS. It's much better than Windows. Smile

Did you build your laptop, too? That has got to be a lot more complicated. Was it much more expensive to do that?

I prefer buying branded PC's because of their compatibility with hardware and software and its performace against own built PC's. the price difference is not worth as compared to satisfaction of mind and work.
