We (Neil and myself) took a large punt in October; sold our small businesses and decided to make a living from home on the internet! Still living on sausages and water at this stage, but we're making progress.

I've been in the marketing field for years and Neil is a brilliant organiser and those skills have jointly done us well for years. What we're finding is that we fall down on the technical side of the internet. Dreamweaver is greek! And we think PHP should stand for PartyHardParty!

But, if it's not too presumptive - here's a couple of things that we have learned in a short time.
1. Plan what you are going to do... and then focus totally on doing it.
2. Do not allow yourselves to become drowned in emails - resign, resign, resign from those newsletters once you've got what you wanted from them. Particularly from those horrors who send daily emails or more.
3. Don't visit your emails until late afternoon. They shouldn't interfere with your days work.
4. Don't do what we did initially - buy every product we came across, and buried them on the harddrive. If you buy something to resell, then don't buy anything else until you've got the first one up and running!
I'll shut up now.

When we're not on the computer (which isn't often), we enjoy good food, good wine, good conversation and relaxing with a book or two.
What we should be doing is dieting, going on the wagon and exercising.
Life's too short!

Great to find an Aussie Forum.

Rain - what's that????
We've got buckets in the shower. We've got buckets under the air con moisture outlet.
No, it's been a while now but we're nowhere as bad as the farmers out West.
Nobody forget please - tomorrow Tuesday 22 January Woolworths is giving every cent of their profit to the farmers around Australia. Our fridge is totally empty as we've been waiting for the day to come around.
Do a BIG shop tomorrow if you can.

Don't know yet. The little we saw about it said that it was nationwide. So we waited until the cupboards were bare and did a big shop yesterday at Woolies. I'm hoping that they'll say how it went.
Notice in the papers today that Coles is now pushing donations to the farmers via your payment at their checkout. You can choose to pay extra on your bill and that extra goes to The Salvation Army who are also chasing anything they can get for the farmers.
